| Important Issues: |
| End the Iraq War - No more funding of this misbegotten and tragic war. Restrict funding to bringing troops home safely, establishing a regional/international security presence, and rebuilding Iraqi infrastructure. Fully fund programs to take care of our returning veterans.
Economic Justice - End fiscal irresponsibility and shift funding away from the Pentagon. Repeal Bush tax cuts and restore fair tax policy. End corporate tax breaks. Repeal trade agreements offshoring our jobs. Institute national single-payer health care so all Americans have access to decent medical care.
Restoring Democracy - Repeal Patriot Act, and all attacks on our constitutional rights. Institute public financing of all federal elections. Press for alternate voting methods (IRV, range voting) to help break two-party chokehold on our elections.
Energy/Environment - Repeal tax breaks for oil & gas industry. Increase federal funding for renewable energy technologies. Increase government funding of energy conservation programs. Join world community in fighting global warming. Restore & expand regulations on polluters. |

| I’m running to offer Oregonians in District 5 a choice. I believe as Americans we have the capacity to solve whatever problems we face in this country, but we have to confront them head-on. At this point in time, both major parties seem more concerned with getting elected and appeasing their corporate donors than dealing with the threat of our ballooning public debt, job and health insecurity, world instability, the energy crisis and global warming. I will accept no corporate contributions, and my allegiance will be strictly to ordinary citizens whose voices have been largely ignored by our representatives in Washington. My professional experience is in solving problems. I offer to apply the same reason, integrity and problem-solving skills to our political system. |
