Job History:
I am a long-time resident of Austin and currently the Treasurer of the Travis County Green Party. I have been politically active since 2000, when I ran for Texas State Senator against Gonzalo Barrientos, drawing 18% of the vote in that election. I was a captain in the US Army Signal Corps, and am now a member of Veterans for Peace. I am a retired computer scientist, and have worked for the University of Texas, Lockheed, Dell, the VA, the IRS, and St. Edward's University.

Important Issues:
| I believe it is time to rescue the United States from the old politics of money, power, and corruption, and replace it with the new politics of the people, the environment, and the Earth – the vision of the Green Party. In order to do that, we have to eliminate three blights that are draining our nation of money, of lives, and of its moral foundation: the illegal war in Iraq, the destruction of our Constitutional liberties, and the corruption that is rampant in all levels of government today.
Green principles are going to be more and more needed, as the damage we have done to the Earth and her biosphere becomes more and more obvious. But Green principles cover more than just the environment; they speak clearly and boldly about the sacred worth of each individual person – and about the values we’ve lost as a nation under a century of Republocrat misrule. It’s time for a Green century!

The issues that face this country now are too complex to discuss in this small space. Please see my web site, www.tom4texas.org especially the "Why am I running?" page, to learn more about me and why I am asking for your vote.
