Born in Fort Worth TX, the son of a packinghouse worker and a public schoolteacher, I was educated at and around UT Austin at the height of the Sixties. I have operated nightclubs and worked in labor and political activism. I've lived in San Antonio for thirty years.

|I hope to confront Joaquin Castro with four issues, specifics determined with the help of the GPUS Coordinated Campaign Committee:
RACIAL JUSTICE/PRISON REFORM: The failure of police to protect all people cannot be tolerated. We must demand that institutional racism be confronted at every level of government, that law enforcement be demilitarized, that police officers be held accountable, that the racist “war on drugs” be ended, and that the sentencing system be reformed to facilitate rehabilitation.
(Justice should never be for sale, yet our prisons have already been sold, and are run as a growth industry and source of profit. This, too, is intolerable, whether in Karnes County, Bexar, or anywhere.)
VOTING RIGHTS: All voters including citizens with a felony conviction must have access to the ballot box: polling places must be conveniently located with adequate booths and staffing, VOTER ID and other discriminatory laws must be REPEALED and replaced with same-day registration and provisional-voter laws, and voting day must be a holiday with mandatory time off work to vote.
WATER: From Fracking to Flint, our water is under attack. Clean water is a necessity for life and we are campaigning to make it a PUBLIC RESOURCE, available to ALL based on principles of long-term sustainability.
(We must STOP interlocking corporate-state schemes like the "Vista Ridge pipeline" and imposition by developer lobbies and their political cronies of the “California water model”--so-called "water grids" that entail mass movement of water. We must discontinue the use of public funds and subsidies to lure people to the drought zones.)
DE-MILITARIZING FOREIGN POLICY: The U.S. is almost continually at war, and our hyper-militarized foreign policy has produced only more violence, insecurity, and terrorism. The U.S. must rejoin the ranks of civilized nations with a foreign policy of diplomacy based on human rights and respect for international law.
Beyond those issues of our National Electoral Strategy, there are dire concerns about the Presidential candidate with whom Congressman Castro is affiliated.
I will speak the TRUTH few others will about Hillary Clinton. Bent on inflicting renewed East-West Cold War on another generation, she enables East European NAZIS & facilitates fascism. What sort of American can put up with THAT?
I, OTOH, am all about the Presidential candidacy of DR JILL STEIN, and her Foreign Policy of Principled Collaboration (rather than Lawless Domination). Solutions to global problems require the Russian Federation and the United States to work together, shedding outdated cold war attitudes that prevent collaboration on problems facing both nations and the world.
|Why Vote For Paul Pipkin:|
|The 20th Cong. District of Texas is the seat sanctified by the late, great Henry B Gonzalez, the LAST of the real Democrats. When that giant passed with the millennium, there were no more.
I left the corporatized Democratic Party after 1998. Now I know I shall NEVER return.
The two-party system is a SHELL-GAME, run by masters of the short con. And it is never going to change until YOU begin to vote differently.
Cast a vote to BREAK UP the predatory banks, NATIONALIZE the fossil fuel polluters, DE-FUND the war profiteers, and STOP the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) to SAVE American national sovereignty!
TEXAS is the place, and GREEN is the line!
