Gus Philpott | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Job History: | |
| Police officer while senior student in college.
Reserve deputy sheriff in Colorado. Quickly qualified for solo patrol car operation. Purchased and maintained police-equipped motorcycle for three years. Scored 99/100 on written test for U.S. Border Patrol. Ranked #3 on written test for Littleton (Colo.) P.D. Lucky I never got hired full-time. I would have been telling everything they were doing wrong on the first day, and then I would have been washing police cars, not driving them!
| Important Issues: | |
| Stop elder abuse. No more beating up old folks and then arresting them as a way to explain their injuries.
If a deputy causes a traffic crash, he'll get a ticket and the Sheriff's Dept. will pay for the damage. Deputies will be recognized for the valuable service they provide. The motto will be "To Protect and to Serve"; NOT, "to deflect and to swerve". All reports by deputies will be truthful and complete. Report-writing will not be "managed" by supervisors.
| Why Vote For Me: | |
| Lifelong advocate for fairness and justice.
Citizen first, cop second. I believe the cops ought to be the first to obey the laws, not the last.

Green and Green-friendly campaigns that already have a web site, may still be listed in our directory with a link to their official election site.
