| Jason Wallace has lived in the Bloomington/Normal area for all of his life. He attended Normal Community West High School. He has an older brother and twin sister, with a niece and four nephews. His parents also reside in McLean County, his father recently retired from the Air National Guard after serving for 34 years. Soon after graduating high school and the events of September 11th, Jason enlisted in the Illinois Air National Guard. Since then, he has served over 17 months in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. While serving in Kuwait, he volunteered for the base Honor Guard and earned the Air Force Meritorious Unit Award, Air Force Outstanding Unit Award with valor, and the Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal. From his service in the Air Force, Jason has exemplified their three core values of Integrity First, Service before Self, and Excellence in all that You do. In 2003, Jason enrolled in courses at Heartland Community College. It was during this time that he became a local community activist by founding the Central Illinois Bill of Rights Defense Committee. The purpose of this group was to lobby local city councils to adopt resolutions opposing the USA PATRIOT Act. While at Heartland, Jason also gained recognition and experience through his involvement with the Heartland Board of Trustees. he was appointed Student Trustee during his deployment in Kuwait, and took on his new responsibilities within a couple of days of returning to the country. Jason then transferred to Illinois State University in the summer of 2006, after he completed his A.A. degree, where he is an honor student. he will graduate in May 2008 with a B.S. in Politics & Government and a minor in Peace & Conflict Resolution with an emphasis in social justice. he was one of 233 nationwide finalists for the 2007 Truman Scholarship served on the Human Relations Commission for the Town of Normal and is the Executive Chair for the Illinois Board of Higher Education's Student Advisory Committee. | |

| After hearing of Rich Whitney's campaign for Governor in 2006 and learning about the Green Party's Ten Key Values, Jason decided to join the Illinois Green Party. he has been a Precinct Committeeman for the McLean County Green Party since January 2007, using the key values to guide his political perspective. He has the following issues as his top priorities in his run for Congress: Renewable and alternative energy sources as well as public transportation Better care and support for our veterans Restoring our civil liberties and rights Increased funding for public education Universal, comprehensive, national single-payer health care | |

| We are very excited to welcome you to Jason Wallace's main campaign site. Jason is running for the U.S. House of Representatives in the 11th District of Illinois. He is a member of the Illinois Green Party and the Green Party of the United States, both part of the Global Green movement.
